Salford City are looking to extend their unbeaten run to 17 games as they welcome mid-table Aldershot Town to the Peninsula Stadium this Saturday (KO 3pm).
Sutton United were the last side to emerge victorious against Graham Alexander’s men, who sit third in the Vanarama Conference after drawing four of their last six games.
Whilst the League is the real priority for Salford, who will be dreaming of a place in the Football League next season, FA Cup buzz has very much been the talk of the past few days. The Ammies’ 1-1 draw away at League 1 outfit Shrewsbury has earned them a televised replay this coming Wednesday however Alexander is keen not to let it become a distraction
Alexander said: “We have got to focus on Aldershot, because that’s the biggest game for the first team coming up now.”
Whilst there is no official team news yet, Salford could rotate their side, with games coming thick and fast with a heavy festive programme on the horizon. Saturday’s is the first of five games in the next fortnight.
Alexander will be keen to start turning draws into wins and will take confidence from being only two points from top-of-the-table Wrexham.
Aldershot also arrive after a respectable FA Cup display against League One Bradford City, in which they managed a 1-1 draw.
Tickets are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions. Under 5s gain free entry and tickets can be purhcased at the gate.
