It’s Irlam FC who go into this one as favourites with slightly better form than their opponents with tonight’s match being described as an early six pointer.

Both teams go into this crunch match on the back of Macron cup defeats against lower league opposition, however Irlam will want to build on their 2-0 league win over Winsford United last Saturday.

Irlam’s promising start to the season, which saw them lose just one in their opening ten matches in all competitions, has been shattered in recent weeks with just one win in the last five league matches.

The visitors will go into tonight’s game the more confident of the two thanks to that win on the weekend and their leading goalscorer, Marcus Perry, will be hoping to build on his seven goals against one of the divisions weakest defenses.

West Didsbury’s league form has be woeful this season and they go into this one with one of the worst records in the league with six defeats in their last six games and with City of Liverpool coming up they’ll want to take all three points from the visitors.

A victory for West Didsbury will ensure they remain clear of the drop zone, however they will most likely remain in 18th unless they manage to emphatically win the match.

Irlam could move as high as 13th with a victory over their close neighbors tonight, a result which will see them extend their unbeaten run in the league to three matches

When the two sides met last November, Irlam beat the hosts 5-3 at Brookburn Road and will be hoping for similar fortunes this time around before the visit of 14th place Ashton Athletic this Saturday.
