The premium quality Nicholas James Gin distilled and made in Salford is set to hit retailers as soon as next week.
Nicholas James Gin is the latest business venture of Nicholas McCance, director of Ellenbrook Estates Ltd. The 26 year old, who is Salford born and bred, has been planning the new gin for over two years now.
He aims to create some job opportunities in Salford in the not too distant future as the brand grows. The bottle design is simple but effective and every label has a Salford postcode engraved on the back.
McCance has big plans for the Nicholas James brand and is not content with stopping at just distilling gin.
“We’re going to keep to gin for at least 12 to 18 months or around that sort of timeframe.
“I can’t go into too much detail but I want it to be a multi-spirit brand. Some ideas that I have got is to do a premium high quality vodka along and then maybe somewhere down the line a full bodied spiced rum.
“I am the sort of guy who has a lot of ideas, but it is more about focussing on the right one and what is going to make people the most happy.”
With a recommended retail price of £35 it is certainly aimed more towards the top shelf premium brands of spirit. Time will tell if Nicholas James Gin will be said in the same breath as Tanqueray or Hendricks.
