The goals were flying in this weekend in the Greater Manchester Women’s Football League, as three Salford women’s football sides were in action.
Barr Hill Ladies vs Salford City Lionesses
Salford City Lionesses were involved in their first derby of the season as they took on Barr Hill Ladies away in Division One of the Greater Manchester Women’s Football League.
The Lionesses made it four wins out of four with a 8-0 victory over Barr Hill, consequently ending Barr Hill’s unbeaten start to the season.

Both Salford women’s football teams are newly formed but Salford City stormed to a 4-0 advantage before half time.
On the score sheet were; Beth Tattersall, Fliss Winters, Laura Tobin, Rach Smith, Ellen Thornton and Feiruz Abdullahi (Hattrick).
This result solidified Salford City Lionesses spot at the top of the table with Barr Hill Ladies dropping to third.
Next up for Salford City Lionesses is an FA County Cup tie against Manchester Rovers FC on 21st October, the Lionesses will hope to continue their unbeaten season by progressing in the cup.
Barr Hill Ladies travel to Sale Ladies for their next game on 28th October, Barr Hill will be looking to bounce back after this weekends defeat.
Flixton Ladies vs Swinton Ladies
Also in action over the weekend, Swinton Ladies took on Flixton Ladies in Division Two of the Greater Manchester Women’s Football League.
Swinton stormed to an 18-4 victory in this one, with Anna grabbing seven of the goals.

The win for Swinton is their fourth so far this season and puts them four points clear at the top of Division Two, a healthy lead for early in the season.
Next up for Swinton Ladies is a trip to Division One opponents Sale Ladies in the FA County Cup on 21st October, Sale are yet to win so far this season.
