Lancashire will be looking to pick up their first win of the season following successive defeats against Nottinghamshire and defending champions Essex.
The Red Rose county begin their third match of the 2018 Specsavers County Championship tomorrow against Surrey at Emirates Old Trafford.
Surrey will be coming into this match feeling confident following their 139 run victory over Hampshire on Monday.
Despite a 31 run defeat away to defending champions Essex, Lancashire will have taken positives from the match with Jordan Clark, Alex Davies and Joe Mennie all notching half centuries.
Keaton Jennings will be looking to hit some form as the Test series against Pakistan gets nearer and nearer. The 25 year-old managed to get a start in Chelmsford, but couldn’t continue as his side fell just short of the victory target.
The home side are still on the hunt for their first batting bonus point of the season having suffered two first-innings collapses, having only managed scores of 158 and 144. However, it is common to see batting collapses at the start of the season due to the seam-friendly conditions.
As for the visitors, young wicketkeeper-batsman Ollie Pope will be looking to impress again after his fine 145 at the weekend. On the bowling front, young spinner Amar Virdi looked in fine fettle despite the April conditions as he claimed 4-79.
Ben Foakes, a wicket-keeper batsman, who is regarded by many as the best in the country at the minute, managed to score 46 and 81 against Hampshire as he fights for a maiden international call up. The 25-year old looks more than useful and likes to keep himself busy in order to tick the scoreboard over.
Lancashire won the previous encounter between the sides by seven wickets last September.
