A Danceathon in Greater Manchester that raised £2,000 for Cancer Research UK was hailed for uniting the community.
Locals gathered at The Gilda Brook Social Club in Eccles on Saturday 14th April for a night of dancing in aid of the cancer charity.
Graham Heatley, 67, was contacted to run the event at The Gilda Brook Social Club, on Wellington Road in Eccles, and even made a contribution to the fundraiser.
Graham said: “I think it’s a great cause to fundraise for. Everyone can get affected by cancer.
“It brought the community in Eccles together to raise money and awareness for a great cause.”
The Danceathon was sold out and raised £2,000.
In the years of 2016-2017, £386 million worth of research was supported by Cancer Research UK, which helps investigate causes of cancers and discovering new drugs to help treat cancer.
