A group of nine men from the Manchester area, each effected by cancer have spent years decorating three vehicles, which they plan to drive to Benidorm in hopes of raising money for charity.
The three cars have been decorated in whacky decorative themes including a road car styled as a bee, a hearse covered in superhero comic book strips, and a limousine in the famous Manchester bees.
The group, known as the Manchester Bees Benidorm Bangers, hope to add to the already almost £2000 funds raised in the name of The Christie Cancer Foundation by making the drive in just five days.
Gareth Knowles, 33, is one of the nine men making the trip to the Spanish resort.
Gareth’s wife, Sarah-Jane Yates, 34, said: The guys have done things for charity many times before. They plan on driving to Benidorm from London’s ACE Café, donating boxes of gifts along the way”.
Sarah went on to add: “We have had friends, families, grandfathers all effected by cancer in some kind of way so this is our way of giving something back. The Christie Foundation have supported us all the way through the ordeal. They have been incredible at giving hope through difficult times, especially when the cancer has been terminal”.
The three cars will set off for the 20-hour drive to the southern Spanish resort of Benidorm from London’s Ace café on April 24th, along with 90 other vehicles raising funds in a similar fashion.
