Salford Together has released a survey to find out what quality of life means to people in Salford.
Salford Together is an organisation that works in partnership with Salford City Council, NHS Salford Clinical Commissioning Group, Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, Salford Primary Care Together and Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.
It aims to bring these organisations together to ensure that a person’s individual needs, specifically targeting mental health, are met and that individuals are receiving the support they need.
In order to do this, Salford Together uses surveys, forums and feedback sessions to gather information regarding what the public believes should be prioritised.
One of their previous surveys, Salford’s Big Health and Care Conversation, asked people for their views on the delivery of Salford health and care services and how they would like to improve them if they could. They spoke to around 4200 people and gathered 1670 completed questionnaires.
The large amount of data that they gathered enabled they to see themes and patterns, which told them the key areas for improvement
This resulted in the creation of an enhanced care team, made up of different health and social care professionals, which provide support to individuals in their homes.
This survey aims to define what aspects of their lives people consider to be the most important, in order to have a good quality of life overall.
It also investigates how much people worry about money, social and other aspects of their lives to evaluate the importance that individuals place on each of their needs.
Quays News asked students what they believed you needed for a good quality of life.
If you would like to have your say and contribute to improving Salford’s mental health services, then please fill out the survey.
