AFTER 50 years of not being on the show, Her Majesty The Queen will be aired on Songs of Praise which was announced last night at The Landing in MediaCityUK.
Cat Lewis, CEO and Executive Producer of Nine Lives Media announced the secret that The Queen will be joining the show, which will be aired on January 14, 2018.
She said: “I am going to tell you a couple of secrets actually.
“The Queen is coming on Songs of Praise.”
She then announced when the programme will be aired and went on to say that: “She really loves what we are doing with the show.”
She also hinted at why The Queen is coming to the show in the announcement.
Cat Lewis announced this while at a speaker event called ‘Escape Velocity: Growing Salford’s Creative Economy’.
Nine Lives Media is a Salford based company which was set up by Cat Lewis ten years ago and they moved to MediaCityUK when they won the 12 million contract to make Songs of Praise.
Nine Lives Media and Avanti Media will be running the show for the next three years.
It was only last month when The Queen and the Duke Of Edinburgh’s 70th wedding anniversary were celebrated on Songs of Praise where Prince Michael, the Queen’s cousin, is interviewed during the show.
Prince Michael was a five-year-old page boy during the wedding ceremony at Westminster Abbey on November 20, 1947, and he recalls his memories from the day during the interview.
The show aired on Sunday, November 19 at 3pm.
