DRIVERS faced a nightmare during this morning’s rush-hour due to heavy rain, a car crash on the M60 and fuel spillage.
Two lanes have been closed following the two-car crash which happened at junction 25 for Bredbury leading to miles of tailbacks stretching between junction 24 for Manchester and junction 1 for Stockport. This has also caused bus services to be delayed.

There have also delays on junction 24 for Denton Island and on the M60 anti-clockwise around junction 18 for Bury and on the M61 Southbound near the junction with the M60, although there are no major incidents to report.
To add to the drivers’ despair there has been fuel spillage on M6 which has later been dealt with.

Heavy rain has made everything worse, with showers expected to continue throughout the evening.
Morning Manchester, lots of surface water especially on the motorway network this morning. Adjust your driving to the weather/road conditions and slow down.
