Manchester hosts the Children’s Global Media Summit

QUAYS News are at the Global Media Summit which is being held at the Manchester Central Convention Complex and will bring you live updates from the event.

The Duke of Cambridge Prince William will speak to delegates at the event about children’s mental health and the digital world. Both the Prince and Kate are passionate about many causes, in particular mental health and have spoken candidly about the topic on a number of occasions.

Today is the second day of the three-day summit that has bought together delegates from across the world to explore the role which media will play in the future for children and young people.

The programme for day two also features Celebs Unleashed with Tom Fletcher and Oli White, and panel talk ‘Unboxing girls and boys’ hosted by the chair of UN Women Laura Haynes with guest speakers, Jordan Stephens, Rizzle Kicks and  Obie Scott Wade, creator of children’s media with a passion for innovative concepts.

Obie created the animated programme SheZow, a story of a 12-year-old boy who uses a magic ring from his late aunt to transform into a crime-fighting female superhero.
