FOR many, it sounds like the perfect job. Yet, after 22-years covering Manchester United for the Manchester Evening News, Stuart Mathieson has decided to pursue a new challenge.
The former chief Manchester United reporter wrote his final piece for the newspaper a few weeks ago, and agreed to do an exclusive interview with Quays News
In the interview below, Stuart reflects on over two decades spent following one of the world’s largest sporting organisations.
He looks back on his career highlights as well the stresses that came with reporting on United, and even recalls his experience of receiving the infamous Sir Alex Ferguson’s ‘hairdryer treatment’.
Lovely to be able to read your own obituary when you are still alive. My last match as MEN #mufc chief reporter pic.twitter.com/jLg3cxVdx8
