Triple Six Festival, a brand new weekend festival packed with horror, is making its debut at the AMC Great Northern in Manchester at the end of May.
Owners of UK Horror Scene, Andy Deen and The Slaughtered Bird, Chris Barnes have teamed to create the festival, feeling the need and passion for a new horror film festival in Northern England.
Triple Six’s aim is to highlight the best in independent Horror and will give awards at the end of the festival to the Best Feature Film, Best Short Film, Best Feature Director and an Audience Choice award.
The festival will showcase nine feature length Horror films and nine shorts over the dates of May 27th and 28th including a world premiere, three European premieres and three UK premieres.
Triple Six will also feature a screening of 1990’s “Hardware,” on 35mm film, which will be followed by a Q&A with its director, Richard Stanley.
One for not only fans of cult Sci-Fi Horror but for those film purists that love that grainy look of shooting on film.

Some of the highlight films are “Tone Death”, which will be having its world premiere at Triple Six, starring a drug-addled techno music producer who experiments with sending ‘consciousness to the next level’.
The festival will also debut the UK premiere of “The Chair”, a horrifying tale of humanity’s capacity for evil centered around a man struggling to escape death row.
The first feature being shown is “The Quarry”, which sounds very similar to the acclaimed British Horror, “The Descent” from 2005.
What little is known about this one includes a woman joining a wilderness expedition with a group of other women to escape her abusive boyfriend.
What was supposed to be an opportunity for personal discovery quickly turns into a fight for survival.
Triple Six promises to be a must-attend for Manchester’s Horror fans, if only to see what this brand new festival is all about.

With Grimm Up North’s “Grimmfest” horror festival being held annually in the city since 2009, Triple Six will be wanting to provide some stiff competition as the annual place to be for the city’s Horror community.
Tickets are still available for parts of the festival here but act quickly!
