Sale Sharks Flanker, David Seymour has made an incredible career endeavour by opening his own coffee comapny: Couch, Grind Coffee.

Seymour, 32, is one of the longest-serving players at Sale Sharks, who has played 160 games for the Sharks since arriving from Saracens in 2009.

One of his biggest endeavours this year has taken two of his biggest passions in life are rugby and coffee.

Since having a very successful rugby career for the last 13 years, he is now embarking on a new challenge, establishing Couch, Grind, Coffee, a wholesale and retail coffee business.

He said: “I’ve created a coffee company called: Couch, Grind Coffee. Basically wholesale and retail coffee beans, pods and ground coffee, which launched a couple of weeks ago! I’ve had a fair few friends who have retired and said if you can find or create something you love whilst you’re still playing, it’s probably the best outcome.

“I’m giving it a go now and to be honest I’m really enjoying it! I’ve also got a coffee van going in to Spinning Fields at the end of June, which is our main focus at the moment!”

In David’s range there are three completed blends which are now available to purchase on the company’s website and will go on sale from a Couch Grind Coffee van in the heart of Spinningfields from mid-June.

‘Best coffee in Manchester… Bottom Line!’

Sale Sharks Career

Since cementing his status as one of the club’s key senior players, his all-action style has helped make him become one of the most popular players with colleagues and fans alike.

Not to mention Sale boss Steve Diamond who helped give Seymour his break in the professional game when he was director of rugby at Saracens.

DAVID SEYMOUR INFOGRAPHICS

On Saturday Sale Sharks take on Bath Rugby, David gave us his thoughts on the game and the season overall: “It’s a big game at home because it’s the last game at home and for some of the boys who are leaving the club and the final game for Mike Phillips full stop!

“We have a lot to play for as a team, we aren’t where we want to be in the league table, but we want to finish strongly”
