THOUSANDS turned out in the sun for the annual St George’s Day celebrations in Manchester city centre.
Huge crowds enjoyed the St George’s Day festivities, with many dressed in the St George’s cross to commemorate the day.
The parade, which took just over two hours to complete it’s course, saw samba dancers, jesters, scooters and knights take to the streets around Manchester.
Crowds enjoyed appearances from The British Manchester Terrier Club, scooters clubs from across the North West and The Piccadilly Rats to name just a few.

Led by St George on horseback, the procession left Varley Street in Miles Platting at 12.15pm, before arriving in the city centre at around 1pm.
However the parade was only part of the wider St George’s Day celebrations, with festivities taking place across the city centre.
Many enjoyed the free entertainment, including: street theatre, dancing, music and food stalls.
