This spring, musicians from the BBC Philharmonic have undertaken a concert tour of venues across Salford, bringing live music to the heart of the local community.
Joined by 14 musicians to form, the BBC Philharmonic performed for an audience on Friday afternoon at Salford Cathedral, which involved fabulous music and entertaining chats.

The musicians performed music from a wide variety of styles, genres and periods, ranging from a Burt Bacharach medley to film music by John Williams via beautiful Romantic music by French composer Gabriel Faure.
There was something to suit every taste of music, especially when the musicians performed a medley dedicated to the memorable celebrities that sadly died last year.

Jenny Redmond from the BBC Philharmonic spoke to us before the event: “It is a great way of bringing the music into the community, where the people of Salford get to mingle with musicians and experience something spectacular.”
We are looking forward to welcoming @BBCPhilharmonic and all our guests to this special event @fotofacade @Listencreative @ChristyHorrocks https://t.co/lAiFqCxHav
