SPIINNINGFIELDS welcomes new restaurant The Beastro, opening this March.
The new dining experience will be combining meat in to bistro style food, to offer classic breakfast dishes, a ‘grab and go’ lunch, as well a restaurant style evening dinner for the residents of Manchester.
Richard Brown, one of the brains behind The Beastro, told me, “Our lunch offer is closer to the grab and go synonymous with the kitchens, our hearty sandwiches, salads and soups, keep the local workers sustained and satisfied.
“The evening is where the magic happens with a weekly changing menu of seasonal dishes, using as much as possible a range of local ingredients focusing on the best of British meat, vegetables and fish.”
The idea behind the new restaurant comes from Richard Brown, and James and Heather Taylor who were the winners of the original start up incubator The Kitchens, launched by Allied London in Spinningfields.
The Beastro will be taking over the current space of The Kitchens which currently consists of three separate units.
Richard explained, “At the end of 12 months of battling it out with the other six contestants we were crowned winners of the competition and along with a small investment we were given the chance to take the space and turn it into a full restaurant space.”
Their idea was to turn their winging concept ‘Bangers and Bacon’ into a larger unit, however when it came to their design and brand they decided an all-day dining experience was needed.
Bangers and Bacon first began trading originally as a breakfast focused brand in September 2014, with meat at the heart of their food.
They combined sausage and bacon flavours created by James and Heather at Bobby’s Bangers mixed with kitchen flair of Richard.
They have since traded at over 150 events around the UK, where their concept then moved to operate alongside other brands at The Kitchens.
“Our events side of the business will still remain very active, under our ‘Beastro Outside’ brand.
“This will encapsulate all our street food brands including Bangers and Bacon, Shake Moroc and Roll, Well Hung and Cluck and Pluck as well as corporate, party and outdoor event catering,” said Richard.

The Beastro plans to continue sourcing their produce as locally as possible, currently operating partnerships with the Manchester Veg People and their own handmade sausages and bacon from their in-house butchers Bobby’s Bangers.
“Beastro will bring a new dining destination to Spinningfileds as an independent we aim to offer a friendly, personal service that can adapt menu and style to suite that of our locals and ensure that we offer the best experience possible.
Richard continued, “We will bring our passion and energy to the Leftbank area of Spinningfields and add to its continued growth and development.”
The Beastro will be opening on the 3rd March. For more details, click here for The Beastro’s website or visit @beastromcr on Twitter.
