STAMFORD born midfielder David Martin Norris, has signed for Leatherhead FC in 2016 and today joined the Salford City FC on dual registration terms. The midfielder holds an enormous amount of experience with over 400 Football League appearances.

He began his career in his hometown club before his transfer to Boston United in 1999 where he made 26 appearances scoring 10 goals and helping his team win the promotion from the Southern League’s Premier Division. Later he was transferred to Premier League team Bolton Wanderers for a fee of £50,000, which was considered a record transfer fee received by Boston at that time.

From 2000 until 2002 Norris went back to Boston FC as well as to Hull City FC and Plymouth Argyle FC on loans until he finally signed to Argyle on December 2002 for an undisclosed fee. In 2006 he received the club’s player of the year awards and by the time he transferred to Ipswich Town in, he had 243 appearances in his career and scored 28 goals for Plymouth.

In January, 2008 Norris signed an undisclosed fee contract with Ipswich Town FC, where he became the team captain in 2010. After rejecting an offer for a new contract in 2011 he joined Portsmouth FC until 2012. Leeds United signed Norris from 2012 until 2015.

From 2015 until today David Norris has played for Peterborough United, Yeovil Town, Blackpool and earlier this season for non-league team Leatherhead.

According to Transfer Markt, Norris is worth £170,000, however Salford City FC are yet to announce their transfer fee.

Salford City FC stated “we’d like to welcome him to Moor Lane and trust that his stay with us will be a happy and memorable one.”
