A GROUP of school children have helped Manchester Metrolink bury a time capsule this afternoon.
Manchester City Councillors joined Metrolink director Peter Cushing and Labour Councillor Rosa Battle in burying the capsule, which aims to give future generations an insight into life in Manchester in 2016.

The school children designed the plaque that will sit on top of the capsule just outside St. Peters Square tram stop.
Inside the box is a script from last nights episode of Coronation Street, merchandise from both Manchester United and Manchester City, and a copy of the Midland Hotel chef, Adam Reid’s Great British Menu.
The SPS time capsule, which also includes footage from this years Manchester History festival – giving future Mancunians an insight into life in Manchester further back than 2016, is rumoured to beep after one hundred years to alert future passers by.
