Barclays Eagle Labs have launched their new office in MediaCityUK as part of their expansion.
On Wednesday night, Barclays Eagle Labs launched their new office in Salford.
The event welcomed aspiring entrepreneurs and new businesses to their office in The Landing, the first one of its kind to set up in the North.
Vinny Nall, manager of the Salford Lab launch told me: “The launch provides an insight on the space and rapid prototyping facilities available to businesses and community, and they can enjoy an evening of networking within MediaCityUK and Salford eco-system.”

The launch took up to eight weeks to set up and Eagle Labs hopes to offer access to world class mentors, professional networks and funding opportunities for start-up, scale ups and entrepreneurs.
“We aim to Support businesses and communities to embrace new technologies and provide a physical space where Barclays can help entrepreneurs, businesses and a community to create, innovate and grow.” Vinny told me.
Media City is expected to grow almost double in the next ten years, being attractive to many entrepreneurs who are expected to be choosing Salford as a place to work and live.
Eagle Labs organisers recognise this, with Vinny telling me: “MediaCityUK within Salford is becoming the leading international hub for the creative and digital sector and will be home to many entrepreneurs and SMEs that we want to support with growth and provide them with the resources to do so.”
The new addition to Media City also has plans for the future, hosting a variety of events and meet ups in areas such as micro-bit coding, digital fabrication skills, tea & teach and maker workshops.
With seven other offices located across the country, the Barclays business hopes their new venture up in the North will be just as successful.
