‘SEVEN COUNTRIES. SEVEN PLAYS. A WORLD OF DEBATE.’ B!RTH is an international theatre festival developed to provoke debate globally and question the issue of inequality of healthcare around the world.
The festival, established by Manchester’s Royal Exchange Theatre and The Oglesbury Charitable Trust, will bring together leading female playwrights from across the globe to discuss the issue of healthcare and approaches to childbirth in different countries.
Prominent voices from the worlds of art, science, academia, politics and charities gather in a series of theatrical performances and debates, including award-winning playwrights Marcia Zanelatto from Brazil, Xu Nuo from China and the UK’s Stacey Gregg, as well as many more.
